Will schools in Kentucky have to be open in the summer to make up for closings now?

It's possible. As of now, for schools that have implemented a nontraditional instruction (NTI) plan, Kentucky can waive up to 10 days of required attendance. Unless the legislature changes this requirement, students in districts without NTI plans or who use more than 10 NTI days may be required to make up days missed during closure.
