Will I get a break on my rent payments if I lose my job in Illinois?
All of the governor’s COVID-19-related executive orders’ declared since April 8 have been voided, as ruled by an Illinois judge. A state rep. argued that the governor’s emergency powers ran out 30 days after the initial emergency declaration. If you are still unable to make rent payments, contact your landlord to try and work out an arrangement.

The state of emergency in Illinois has been extended to July 1, 2020 which means no evictions will go through.

Evictions have been halted by executive order in Illinois. Contact your landlord to try and make arrangements for delaying rent payments if you are unable to pay. Housing authorities in Tennessee may also be able to direct you to resources to help with your rent.
