Under the law, dogs are considered property so they must be looked after by their owner. A dog can become impounded if: they are found without proper identification tags or are unlicensed, if they are threatening someone’s safety, if they are attacking or disrupting livestock or other wildlife, if they are found wandering uncontrolled on someone’s property.
