Stockton State Park

Stockton State Park
19100 South Highway 215
417-276-4259

The clear waters of Stockton Lake beckon visitors to water ski, scuba dive, swim, or fish. And Stockton State Park is the perfect place to do it. It’s a perfect place for sailing – with perpetual southwest breeze and a nationally recognized sailing school housed at the marina. Two boat launches make it easy to get in the water, as does a swimming beach. Want to stay on land? The park is great for photographing wildlife, picnicking with the family, or just reveling in the beauty of southern Missouri. The park also offers a range of lodging from campsites to cabins.

Boating

Launch your boat from the concrete boat ramps, located at both the marina and at Hartley Cove. There are no launch fees or motor restrictions at Stockton State Park.

You can also rent pontoon, bass and fishing boats, kayaks, canoes, Waverunners and sailboats and purchase the freshest bait on the lake at Stockton State Park Marina.

Camping

Stockton State Park offers basic and electric campsites as well as walk-in basic campsites. There is also a special-use camping area. For a little extra space, try one of the park's family campsites.

Fishing

A quiet cove or secluded shoreline is not hard to find at Stockton Lake. You can expect to catch a variety of fish including bass, white bass, crappie, walleye, catfish or bluegill. Fishing is not allowed near the boat ramps or the marina area; there are no motor restrictions on the lake.

The Stockton Lake Fish Attractors Maps and Fishing Report links are provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Swimming

Cool off at the gravel beach. It is located at the north end of the park. The beach area is not supervised by a lifeguard. Swim at your own risk. Also located nearby is a picnic area with tables and outdoor grills.

Picnic Areas

Two main picnic areas, located off of Highway 215, provide great spots for a picnic lunch. The picnic areas are open during park hours and are equipped with outdoor grills and picnic tables.

PICNIC SHELTERS
Stockton State Park is a perfect venue for hosting large family gatherings and special outings. Two large open picnic shelters that can be reserved at a rate of $50 per day.

The North Shelter, which overlooks the lake and includes electricity and water, is a reproduction of the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration work done in the 1930s. The North Shelter includes electrical outlets, picnic tables, an outdoor grill and access to restroom facilities and children's playground equipment. It can accommodate up to 100 people.
The South Shelter, located in close proximity to the marina boat launch, features picnic tables, an outdoor grill and access to a boat slip and restroom facilities. It can accommodate up to 50 people.

PLAYGROUNDS

For the kids, playground facilities are available in the vicinities of the north shelter and both the east and west campgrounds.
