Schaller Public Library

About Us :
The Schaller Library was established as a public, non-profit library for use by the citizens of the town of Schaller and surrounding rural area. Librarians are Barb Jorgensen and Rhonda Pyle. Library staff include groundskeeper, cleaning staff, and volunteers to administer various programs and exhibits throughout the year.

Schaller Library, Schaller, IowaThe Librarians have been trained in managing a reference collection and strive to keep it at a size that can be efficiently used by the patrons. Selection factors are based on the needs of the community and include library user's suggestions.

Funding for the library comes from annual book sales, donations, late fees, and public funding.

A library board directs the overall operation of the facility.

Volunteers are encouraged to place their names on a list for special projects, refurbishing, sorting, and special programs. Let us know your talents and we may have just the right spot for you.

History :
The Schaller Public Library was established in 1925 in a very small closet-sized room. They have relocated four times moving into their current location in the brick building next to City Hall in 1955.
