About Us:
In 1871 Plymouth Library started as a stock company.  Sale of stocks bought the first books.  Book rental money was the only income until 1885.  Upon receipt of a bequest of $1,000, stock was surrendered by members and the company was merged into an association.  A charter was granted by the state in 1886.  In November, 1929, the library building and contents were destroyed by fire.  In April, 1932, the present colonial type building was dedicated.

Located in the heart of downtown Plymouth, the Plymouth Library Association balances historical charm with contemporary functionality.  We offer a selection of books and materials for readers of all ages, services such as printing, photocopying, and wireless internet access, as well as hosting an ongoing book sale.
