About Us

The Phillis Wheatley Community Library, an ultra-modern building built in 1971, is located at 33 Dr. Samuel McCree Way in the southwest sector of Rochester, NY. The building is handicap accessible.

The library is named for Phillis Wheatley (1753? - 1784) whose poetry was published during her lifetime. For this accomplishment, the library is named in her honor.
