The Peoria Public Library was founded in 1880 as one of the first tax-supported libraries in Illinois. Any citizen of Peoria is entitled to a library card and that library card opens the doors to one of Illinois' largest collections of information and entertainment through books, periodicals, movies, music, art, displays, programming for all ages, public computers with internet access and wifi access for wireless internet devices.
