North Tonawanda Public Library

505 Meadow Drive
716-693-4132

History:

Chartered in 1893 as a school district library, the North Tonawanda Public Library was initially located in the now demolished Goundry School #1. Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie’s gift of $20,000 in 1904 funded the Library’s second home at 240 Goundry St. Crowded conditions in the Carnegie building prompted the opening of the Library’s third and present location on Meadow Drive in 1975. The former Carnegie Library is now an art gallery.

Our Mission:

The Mission of the North Tonawanda Public Library is to continually assure access to a diversity of ideas, resources and services to meet the informational, educational and recreational needs of the community in a safe and comfortable environment.
