Mt. Carmel Public Library

History:

The Mt. Carmel Public Library is a municipal library serving 7,578 residents of the city of Mt. Carmel, IL the county seat of Wabash County. The Library was established on October 16, 1911.

Originally a Carnegie Library, we moved into our current building in 1970. The library houses a collection of 54,484 adult books, 14,889 children books, 65 periodicals and newspapers, 1,560 DVD’s/Video’s and an audio-visual collection of 956 items.
