History
The City of Keizer has never had a tax supported public library. However, about 20 years ago, several local teachers started a small volunteer library, primarily for the benefit of children. Located in Keizer City Hall, it was known as the Keizer Reading Connection. Books were available on Saturday mornings.
In 1999 the Reading Connection moved to the Keizer Heritage Community Center where it was renamed Keizer Community Library. Now with over 11,000 books, videos, DVDs, large print books and books on tape, etc., there is something for everyone - children, youth and adults.
The library receives support (rent subsidy) from the Keizer Heritage Foundation. Beyond that, book sales, donations and dues cover the bulk of its expenses.
