ABOUT

The Hightstown Memorial Branch is a unique member of the Library System because of its history, location and resources.

The Hightstown Memorial Branch began as a small municipal library in 1921. The present building was constructed in 1954 and was dedicated as a war memorial to veterans of our community. The library then became a Branch of the Mercer County Library in 1969 and has been expanded in 1975 and 1997.

The Hightstown Memorial Branch is the only Branch that hosts an attractive reading room that overlooks the tranquil waters of Peddie Lake. We are also the only Branch in the system that has a fireplace in the main room.

We have ten computers available to the public for word processing and Internet searching. In addition to our books, magazines, newspapers, and local newspapers on microfilm, we have a large collection of DVDs--with a special emphasis on children’s educational videos. We also have music CDs, CD-ROMs, and books on CD. Our Spanish collection also makes us a unique member of the Library System.

We specialize in quality children’s programming, bestsellers for our patrons, and computer instruction. We are very grateful for the new laptop computers recently donated by friends of our library through the Hightstown Library Association.
