The Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library District serves a population of over 14,000 and an area of over 100 square miles. The district includes all of Hampshire Township, plus areas of Burlington, Plato and Rutland Townships.

The purpose of the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library is to increase library usage by providing books, materials, and services to support the educational enrichment of the community, recreational reading, and to introduce children to the world of books.
