Delta Public Library

Our Mission:

The mission of the Delta Public Library is to support and enhance the quality of life for all residents regardless of age, race, or socioeconomic status:

By providing free and equal access to information and services in a variety of material formats;
By promoting life-long learning, assisting with personal research and individual literacy materials for residents all age groups; and,
By meeting the educational, recreational and cultural information needs of the community and its citizens.

Thereby the role of the Public Library within the community of Delta will be to consistently supply and make readily available to all patrons: convenient hours, a variety of educational and recreational materials in both print and non-print formats, as well as other services that supply public demands. The Library will also serve as a point of access for any needed information and/or services by using various resources.

In fulfillment of this mission, the Library Board of Trustees is committed to sound financial management; to the support of intellectual freedom and the right to read; to the continued advancement and modernization of the library system, and to high quality personal service to all users.

Our Vision:

As Delta Public Library continues to look forward into the 21st century, it is realized that computers and digitization will play an even larger role in the services and holdings of the library. Serving a small, rural community, we also recognize that traditional library services and programming will still be in high demand. It is the goal of the Board of Trustees, director and staff to find a good balance in order to fulfill the needs of the community on both levels.

The success of the Delta Public Library throughout its 80 years of service is owed to the continuous support of the community, its wonderful patrons as well as the dedication and foresight of the many fine people who have served as Trustees, Directors and staff. It is the goal of this current board, staff and director to see that the role and mission of the Delta Public Library is carried well into the future to the best of their combined abilities.
