About Us:
The Carrollton Public Library was built in 1902, one of the 105 Carnegie Libraries built in Illinois. Our Collection includes around 18,000 books, 50 magazine subscriptions, and 5 newspapers. Past years of the local paper are available on microfilm for viewing in the library. We have a genealogy section, an Illinois History section, and a Reference section as well as extensive holdings on the Civil War.
Because we are a member of the Lewis & Clark Library System, our library has access to Interlibrary Loan Services for our cardholders. Patrons may sign up to reserve popular titles. We carry large-print books and have access to Talking Books. Videos and audios are available to be checked out. Computers are available for research, typing, and Internet use. We host a preschool children's story hour Friday during the school year.
Our Summer Reading program is popular for the older children (Grades 1-4).
