About
Beginnings are important. Rare is the child who does not ask, “Where did I come from?” or the religion without a story of genesis. With long-standing institutions like the public library, we may forget that there was a time when they were not, but, of course, they too had their beginnings. In Aurora, the call for a public library came early. The discussion began in 1838, only a year after the town’s establishment.
