Yes. Alaska has received a waiver of assessment requirements from the U.S. Department of Education.
At this time, the decision as to whether schools in Alaska will reopen in the fall is being left with individual districts. The Department of Education has offered guidance that uses a community's risk levels for COVID-19 spread as the basis for determining how much time will be spent in classrooms. For example, children in low risk communities will attend school five days a week, while those is high risk areas will not attend in-person classes at all.
