Question Mark
Will I get a break on my mortgage payments if I lose my job in Delaware?

The moratorium on foreclosures in Delaware will remain in place during the state of emergency. Late fees and excess interest accruals are also prohibited. Contact your lender to see if you qualify for forbearance under the federal CARES Act or other program. The Emergency Mortgage Assistance program through the State Housing Agency may also be able to help you. Visit their website for more information.

Yes. The Delaware governor announced a moratorium on evictions and a mandatory 60-day grace period for late payment, for coronavirus-related reasons, of rent due in April, May or June. In addition, a tenant can choose to apply any amount of a security deposit that exceeds one month's rent toward payment of April, May or June, 2020 rent. Contact your landlord to request a late rent payment or to apply a portion of your deposit toward rent.
