Question Mark
How can I support local small businesses during the coronavirus pandemic?
Restaurants and other small businesses throughout the U.S. have slowly started to reopen. As these businesses were forced to temporarily close during the height of the pandemic, some will continue to suffer great financial strain. Continue to support local businesses in your community by visiting restaurants for dining or takeout, buying gift cards for local businesses such as hair salons and barber shops, or donating any extra funds you have if you are financially stable enough to do so.

From restaurants to small business venues, many local businesses throughout the country are being forced to temporarily shutter due to the coronavirus outbreak. For many of these businesses, this shutdown will cause great financial strain. Here are a few of ways you can continue to (safely) support the businesses in your community:

  • If restaurants in your area are offering takeout and delivery, order a meal.
  • When you do buy from those restaurants, tip those service workers well if you are able.
  • If you have the extra funds, make a financial donation to a local business that has had to close during this time.
  • Buy gift cards to local businesses such as restaurants and hair salons so you can use them at a later date.
